She aspires to open a social service agency in the community where she and her family experienced homelessness years ago.
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University. Melanie believes it’s never too late to achieve your dreams, and she is working to achieve all of hers.
